Microsoft is releasing two models: the standard edition and Data Center edition. The standard edition model will allow two operating system environments to manage. The datacenter edition model, on the other hand, is open ended on that regard. The Cloud control that can come from this should make customers more attuned to the use of cloud Operations, meaning that they won’t be restricted to using the Azure services to only one type of OS, like Windows7, for instance.
